Valor 11 takes place Saturday night at the Kingborough Sports Centre in Kingston, Tasmania. The event will mark the promotion’s three year anniversary and will feature a four-man one-night featherweight tournament which will decide the first Valor featherweight champion.

Vying for the featherweight strap will be Western Australia’s Ryan Gray, Myles Simpson from South Australia, Jesse Medina from Victoria and local fighter Chris Drummond. The tournament final will serve as the show’s main event, with the co-headliner to feature an all-Tassie welterweight tussle between Steven Maxwell and Damon Upton-Greer.

Also slated for the night, Queensland veteran Jai Bradney will be eager to halt a recent losing streak when he faces up and coming Melbourne based French fighter Raphael Berthet. The featherweight matchup will also be the title tournament’s alternate bout.

Undefeated after five pro appearances, 22 year-old Ryan Gray from the MMA Clinic in Perth will make his third promotional appearance on the back of a first round submission win over Kris Spence at Valor 10 in Brisbane.

Like Gray, Myles Simpson is also undefeated after five outings, and most recently scored a first round submission at Valor 10. In what was the main attraction on the night, Simpson submitted the previously mentioned Jai Bradney with a rear-naked choke. The Adelaide based fighter also holds a decision win over fellow tournament hopeful Jesse Medina back in 2013.

Following that loss at MMA Down Under 4, Medina went on a three-fight win streak before falling to Integrated MMA’s Aaron Blackie by Submission on the Adrenalin Caged Combat event this past April.

Fighting out of the Hybrid Training Centre in Hobart, Chris Drummond will be looking to bounce back from what was an entertaining back and forth split points decision loss to Josh Payne at Brace 32 in March.

The originally scheduled main event between Valor lightweight champion Adam Cook and Adam Trickey has been re-scheduled for September 12th in Devonport due to injury.
