Western Sydney based promotion Urban Fight Night returns this Saturday night with a massive 19 fight pro/am lineup set to take place at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
Headlining the pro portion of the card is a bantamweight clash between Australian Top Team product James Najim and MMA 24/7 trained Mark Familari from Western Australia.
The hometown favorite in the main event, Najim remains undefeated following a handful of amateur fights and two pro appearances, with all his victories so far coming by stoppage. Most recently, “Jumanji” dispatched Paul Traish with a first round knockout at Urban Fight Night 7 in May.
Najim goes into what will be his first pro main event against Broome’s Familari, who will be eager to kick off his pro career on a high following mixed results as an amateur.
In the co-main event, Brace veteran David Francis takes on the experienced Jeff King at middleweight. Francis was enjoying 2015 victories against Reza Almasi and Jasper Dunphy, both by first round stoppages, before coming across Beau Rawiri at Superfight 2 earlier this year. He lost a close split points decision to the Kiwi on the night, and will now look to turn it around against fellow Sydney fighter Jeff King, who has over 17 fights behind him and has faced some of the top fighters in the country in his time.
Rounding out the pro card, Sydney’s Alby Figueira and Perth’s Ryan Robertson will square off in an interstate flyweight bout, welterweights James Londrigan and William Namoa will collide and Joshua Culibao and Simon Arentz will meet at featherweight.
Headlining the amateur card will be a lightweight title clash between Sydney fighters Alex Gorgees from Australian Top Team and Blake Donnelly from Fafie MMA.
