Following yesterday’s news that the UFC is scheduling an event in Adelaide on May 10, the promotion released a press release earlier today announcing the event to be held at the Adelaide Entertainment Center.
The press-release also confirmed further match-ups for the card which will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic.
Among the match-ups announced is the midldeweight co-main event bout between TUF Smashes winner Robert Whittaker(13-4, UFC 4-2) and Brad Tavares (13-3, UFC 8-3). Meanwhile 42 year-old Anthony Perosh(15-8, UFC 5-5) will be looking for his second win in a row when he meets American Sean O’Connell (16-6, UFC 1-2) in a light-heavyweight clash on the card.
Melbourne youngster Jake Matthews (9-0, UFC 2-0) and James Vick (7-0, UFC 3-0) will both put there undefeated records on the line when they clash in a lightweight bout while Gold Coast based New Zealand fighter Dylan Andrews (18-7-1, UFC 2-2) faces off against former TUF Nations finalist Bradley Scott (10-3, UFC 1-2). In an all Aussie match-up Gamebred Brisbane fighter Brendan O’Reilly (5-1-1, UFC 0-1) will meet Vik Grujic (7-5, UFC 1-2) in a bout that both must win.
In women’s strawweight bouts both Australian fighters Bec Rawlings & Alex Chambers have had match-ups confirmed for the event with Rawlings (5-4, UFC 0-1) meeting South Korea’s Seo Hee Ham (15-6, UFC 0-1) and Chambers (4-2, UFC 0-1) faces American Kailin Curran (3-1, UFC 0-1).
All seven fights on the card currently feature Australian based fighter.
The event is expected to be shown live in Australia on Fox Sports.
