Hobart’s Stuart Dare will square off with Valor welterweight champion Callan Potter in November, after submitting Melbourne’s Hoshi Friedrich with a second round rear-naked choke on Saturday night.

The title eliminator topped the promotion’s C-Series 6 offering at the Grandstand Hall in Hobart.

With the win, Dare gets back in the winners column following a decision loss to UFC fighter Jake Matthews in July, and will now look ahead to the Valor 9 main event on November 22 in Launceston.

Potter captured the welterweight strap in impressive fashion, defeating Damon Upton-Greer and Nick Denholm in the promotion’s one-night title tournament at Valor 5. Both fights lasted a total of just 49 seconds. The Melbourne based fighter went on to stop David Butt with a brutal head kick knockout at Valor 7 to successfully defend the title. Most recently however, Potter suffered a first round knockout loss to Corey Nelson in the AFC 9 main event. This appearance will be his fifth for the promotion, in which he remains undefeated.
