UFC 305 has multiple match-ups being made official as the Perth starts to take shape.
Of special interest to local MMA fans is a flyweight battle between two of the best in this region as Kai Kara-France meets Steve Erceg.
Kara-France comes into the contest on the back of two straight losses and wll be eager to get one over his Australian opponent. The City Kickboxing trained fighter brings an experienced 24-11 record into the contest.
Erceg has had an impressive 12 months. The 28-year-old made his UFC debut in June 2013 and after winning three fights on the trot, was springboarded to a title shot against Alexandre Pantoja. T
The former Eternal flyweight champion showed he could hang with the top of the division, however lost a unanimous decision and will be looking to rebound in front of his home crowd in Perth.
Also eager to rebound will be heavyweight Tai Tuivasa who has not secured a victory in his last four bouts. It should be noted, that before the losing streak, the 31-year-old had won five in a row and was potentially a fight away from a title shot.
Tuivasa will come against Jarizinho Rozenstruik, who himself has struggled inside the Octagon and has not been able to win back-to-back fights in his last nine fights.
Also in the heavyweight division, Queensland-based Junior Tafa will face off with Brazilian Valter Walker.
In the featherweight division, Aussies Jack Jenkins and Josh Culibao will meet Gavin Tucker and Ricardo Ramos respectively while Tom Nolan fights Alex Reyes in the lightweight division. Also, Casey O’Neill fights for the first time this year and will come against Tereza Bleda.
It was revealed previously that flyweight Stewart Nicoll will make his UFC debut on the card, however, this has not been made official by the promotion as yet.
UFC 305 will take place at the RAC Arena on August 18 (AWST) with tickets for the event set to go on sale this week.
