Urban Fight Night returns this weekend with a clash for the Western Sydney based promotion’s vacant lightweight title headlining another pro-am lineup at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
Keeping with tradition, once again the promotion will showcase another massive lineup on Saturday night, with 14 fights slated for the show including four title fights in the amateur ranks.
The lightweight title headliner is an all-NSW affair with Macarthur Martial Arts’s Michael Goufas-Piper taking on a very late replacement in Josh Togo from the ATT Sydney gym.
Hot on the heels of his amateur featherweight title win at West Region Fight Night 3 in May, Goufas-Piper steps up a weight division to take on Togo, who gamely accepted the challenge on just eight days notice.
Togo is undefeated as a pro with victories over Saeed Karsaz and Anthony Barbuto, both taking place in the Hex FS promotion.
The co-main event will feature a light heavyweight clash between the talented Nathan Reddy and Australian MMA stalwart Jeff King.
Among other pro fights announced for the final lineup, no doubt eager for his first victory in the pro ranks, flyweight Alby Figueroa will square off with unbeaten submission specialists Philip Kim from the SPMA gym.
Meanwhile, following his submission of the night win at UFN 11, former amateur lightweight champion Alex Gorgees returns to the promotion looking to even the ledger against pro newcomer Mirko Nuotatore, who owns a submission over the ATT fighter way back in 2015 at UFN 2.
