Australian fighter Matthew Frincu has signed on with American promotion World Series of Fighting and has been announced to make his debut on World Series of Fighting 19. Frincu will face-off in a welterweight contest against veteran Eric Regan.
The event will take place at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, USA on March 28 and will be headlined by Justin Gaethje who will look to defend his lightweight title against Luis Palomino.
Frincu, a Five Rings Dojo fighter packed his bags last year to base himself at the acclaimed Arizona Combat Sports facility for the short term.
Frincu brings with him a 5-1 record, and has already competed in North America where he stopped American fighter Kirk Washington with strikes back in October. The win came only 26-seconds into the contest. Frincu’s lone loss has come at the hands of TUF Nations representative Tyler Manawaroa.
Frincu’s opponent Eric Regan has won only once in his last eight bouts. Regan has over thirty fights in American promotion Rage In The Cage, however overall brings a 15-24 professional record into this bout which will be his promotion debut as well.
The event will also feature the return of Matt Hamill who makes his debut in WSOF against fellow former UFC fighter Thiago Silva.
