Victorian based Daniel Kelly has successfully made weight for his second outing in the UFC. The former multiple time Olympian Judoka weighed in at 185.5 pounds for the middleweight clash. His opponent Patrick Walsh came in heavy at 191.5 lbs and chose to forfeit 20 percent of his purse.
The event takes place on Saturday night at the 1stBank Centre in Broomfield, Colorado and will be televised live in Australia on Fox Sports 5.
Thirty-seven year-old Walsh is undefeated as a professional having made a successful debut in the UFC back in November where he submitted Luke Zachrich with a first-round kimura submission. The Judoka was a participant on the Australia vs Canada season of The Ultimate Fighter where he was defeated by Sheldon Westcott.
His opponent, 26 year-old Patrick Walsh will have youth on his side and also is 1-0 in the UFC after he earned a unanimous decision win over Dan Spohn back in July 2014.
The event will be headlined by former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson stepping up a weight division and on late notice to take on talented Brandon Thatch. Henderson weighed in noticeably shorter at 169 pounds while Thatch came in at an even 170 lbs.
