Following their debut endeavor to Newcastle in September, Brace returns this Saturday night with the second installment in the pro-am series Ascend.

Ascend 2 will take place at the North Sydney Leagues Club in Cammeray and will be headlined by a pro middleweight clash between Sydney fighters Billy McAlees and John Mitchell. The event precedes the promotion’s 2014 season tournament final at the AIS Arena in Canberra just around the corner on the 22nd of this month.

Fighting out of the Boxing Work’s gym, Billy McAlees will be eager to keep his undefeated record intact when he faces Mitchell in the headliner. A two-time Brace veteran, McAlees holds victories in the promotion over top contender Gerhard Voigt and Shane Phillips (video here), both coming by way of TKO.

Mitchell, on the other hand, was on the receiving end of a Gerhard Voigt TKO when they squared off back in early 2013, and will be gunning for his debut win under the Brace banner on Saturday night.

    Fight Card:

    • Billy McAlees vs John Mitchell
    • Luke Spares vs Andrew Mills
    • Daniel Gill vs Tyrone Lacy
    • Dave O’Hare vs Matt Cassell
    • Josh Togo vs Joshua Culibao
    • James Najim vs Moey Ozmen
    • Cameron Rowston vs Nathan Reddy
