Alex Volkanovski makes his Pacific X-treme Combat return this Friday night in Guam where the Shellharbour, NSW native will challenge current featherweight champion Yusuke Yachi for his title.

Taking place at UOG Calvo Field House, PXC 50 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Frank Camacho and Tyrone Jones and will be streamed live via livestream.com. Volkanovski vs Yachi is slated for the show’s co-main event.

Volkanovski (10-1-0), who splits his time training between the Freestyle Fight Gym in Windang and the Tiger Muay Thai gym in Phuket, earned his shot at the title when he defeated Kyle Reyes in his promotional debut just over 12 months ago. Most recently, however, “The Hulk” stopped James Bishop in impressive fashion to make it seven wins in a row and take home the AFC featherweight title this past June. The 27 year-old was originally scheduled to face Yachi back in August before he was sidelined by a staph infection.

Training out of the Krazy Bee gym in Tokyo, Japan Yusuke Yachi (13-4-0) is a former Shooto Rookie and Shooto Pacific-Rim champion and will be aiming for five straight wins when he comes up against arguably Australia’s top featherweight. The 25 year-old hasn’t fought since stopping Jang Yong Kim to claim the featherweight strap back in March.

Among other matchups slated for the night, New Zealand fighters Mark Abelardo and Kai Kara-France will face Roman Alvarez and Josh Duenas respectively.

    Fight Card:

    • Frank Camacho vs Tyrone Jones – PXC lightweight title
    • Yusuke Yachi (C) vs Alex Volkanovski – PXC featherweight title
    • Tessa Simpson vs Celine Haga
    • Brogan Walker vs Raika Emiko
    • Mark Abelardo vs Roman Alvarez
    • Mike Sanchez vs Josh Alvarez
    • Riley Dutro vs Ricky Camp
    • Shane Alvarez vs Yutaro Muramoto
    • Josh Duenas vs Kaiwhare Kara-France
