Whether it’s just PR to increase interest or the bad blood between the two has legitimately grown as the bout grows near, you can guarantee that there will be a lot more interested viewers when the two face off on Wednesday night following the scuffle at the weigh-in.
In what will be Mark Hunt’s first professional combat sports bout since leaving the UFC back in 2018, Hunt weighed in for the contest at 127.14kg while his opponent Paul Gallen weighed in a bit lighter at 103.66kg.
After both stepped on the scales, Hunt approached Gallen and gave him a shove before the two were separated. Hunt followed up attempting to throw a left with Gallen smirking throughout the scuffle.
Asked about his thoughts on the incident, Gallen responded “It surprised me. It’s all been pretty cool.”
“He is trying to intimidate me. I don’t know. We both said from day one [that] we are professionals and it’s been a respectful build-up. It’s been as respectful as it can be. We’ve said all we’ve had to say.”
“That was a bit shocking but it’s all good. We will get it sorted tomorrow night and like I said, I will shock everyone and get the win”
