The tenth offering from Tasmanian promotion Valor took place on Saturday night at Launceston’s Albert Hall.
Valor 6: Validation featured a welterweight rematch in the main event between local fighters David Butt and Damon Upton-Greer.
Butt avenged his second round submission loss to Upton-Greer in February with a knockout early in the first frame. With the victory, Butt (2-3) has earned himself a shot at the promotion’s welterweight champion Callan Potter (4-2) at Valor 7, which is scheduled for February 15, 2014.
In other results from the night, Queensland’s Eddie Trewin suffered his first pro defeat, going down to Victorian fighter Hoshi Friedrich by Guillotine Choke late in the opening round.
The sole women’s bout saw local fighter Christina Tatnell extend her unbeaten run to 3 with a first round knockout of Sydney’s Amy Adam. Tatnell was awarded the KO of the night and will now go on to meet Belinda Sedgwick at Valor 7.
