UFC executives announced at the post-fight press-conference that promotion’s first outing in Adelaide, South Australia drew an attendance of 7,984. The official live gate was given as $833,810.

UFC Fight Night 65 was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in South Australia and featured a heavyweight clash as the main event with American Stipe Miocic battering Sydney’s Mark Hunt.

Let’s see how this compares to UFC’s previous events in Australia and New Zealand.

    • 21-Feb-2010: UFC 110: Nogueira vs Velasquez – 17,831 attendance/$2.5 million gate
    • 27-Feb-2011: UFC 127: Fitch vs Penn – 18,186 attendance/$3.5 million gate
    • 3-Mar-2012: UFC on FX 2: Alves vs Kampmann – 14,537 attendance/$2.2 million gate
    • 15-Dec-2012: UFC on FX 6: Pearson vs Sotiropoulos – 5,133 attendance/$900,000 gate
    • 7-Dec-2013: UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs Bigfoot – 11,393 attendance/$1.785 million gate
    • 28-Jun-2014: UFC Fight Night 43: Marquardt vs Te Huna – 8,089 attendance/$913,000
    • 8-Nov-2014: UFC Fight Night 55: Bisping vs Rockhold – 9,904 attendance/$1.05 million gate
    • 10-May-2015: UFC Fight Night 65: Hunt vs Miocic – 7,984 attendance/$833,110 gate

The UFC’s last outing in Australia featured a stoppage in every fight and it came close to that figure again, with 10 of the 12 fights ending in either KO/TKO or a submission. The $50,000 performance of the night bonuses were awarded to Robert Whittaker, James Vick, Daniel Hooker and Alex Chambers.

The UFC is expecting to return back to Australia in November with an event scheduled to be held in Melbourne.
