September 22 was a night to forget for Muay Thai bantamweight Tyson Harrison.

“John Wayne Noi” needed a knockout against Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai to capture a six-figure ONE Championship contract at ONE Friday Fights 34, but unfortunately fell short at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was almost all one-way traffic throughout the round one slugfest, as Kulabdam lived up to his “Left Meteorite” moniker by repeatedly bludgeoning Harrison to the head and body with his straight left hand.

One of the straight left hands caused Harrison to have an unfortunate accident in which he soiled himself. With the remnants dotted around the ring, the Aussie fought through his discomfort to see out the round.

At the end of the opening frame, the referee called a halt to the action. Seemingly unaware of the mess, the official waved the fight off as a result of Harrison’s badly swollen jaw.

The defeat is a bitter blow for Harrison, after ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong had confirmed that one more knockout would earn the Tor Sangtiennoi Gym representative a full-time contract with the promotion in the pre-fight press conference.

The 22-year-old now falls to 2-3 with the promotion, despite having earned a huge reputation for his all-action performances against elite competition.

Kulabdam has been a staple of the division since 2019. The 25-year-old now has two wins and a no contest from his past three starts, for an overall mark of 68-18-5.

In the main event, Thai megastars Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 went to war over three rounds in what had been shifted to a non-title catchweight bout after the latter missed weight.

In the end, it was Superlek who did the damage with a second round knockdown to win a close, but unanimous decision.
