The Western Sydney slugger made a strong start to his UFC career, picking up three straight wins in the space of 7 months which included two knock out victories.
Tuivasa was rewarded for his efforts, being given the main event spot in Adelaide against former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos. He ultimately lost by TKO in the second round. Since then, Tuivasa has gone on to lose two more fights, bringing his professional record to 9-3.
Tuivasa has been training at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose. The gym is world-renowned for producing UFC champions such as Daniel Cormier, Cain Velasquez, Luke Rockhold and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Tuivasa’s opponent Jarjis Danho has not fought since 2016 and is winless inside the UFC with a record of 5-1-1.
The only official fight announced for the card is a women’s flyweight title bout between champion Valentina Shevchenko and challenger Joanne Calderwood.
Although nothing is official, UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski is expected to defend his title in a rematch with Max Holloway in the main event.
