Sunshine Coast fighter Scott Thorburn goes to battle this Saturday against Kris Spence in what will be the main event of Cage Soldiers 3.
The event which has a mixture of MMA and Muay Thai bouts, takes place at the Maroochydore Basketball Stadium in Buderim, Queensland.
Thorburn will look to remain undefeated in front of his home-crowd. He comes into the fight on the back of TKO victory over Riley Mallett back in February. In that fight, the Core Strength Fitness trained fighter looked to be down on the cards after two rounds, however stayed in the contest and rocked Mallett in the third-round before he finished him with controversial downward elbows.
His opponent Kris Spence has already fought twice in 2015, however lost both fights via submission. Coming from the Ronin Academy gym, Spence last competed in March where he was forced to tap after his opponent Bayden Mandich took his back and secured the rear-naked choke early into the bout.
The card will also feature a pair of ‘B’ class MMA bouts as well as a huge card of Muay-Thai contested in the cage including Ryan McDonald taking on Andy Smith and Jacob Breen versus Paul Martin.
