Recently crowned Aftershock bantamweight champion Trent Girdham will look to add the Urban Fight Night title to his collection on Saturday night in Sydney. The undefeated Sydneysider will square off with Perth native Ryan Robertson in the main event of UFN 10, which takes place at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
With three amateur submission wins behind him, “Ninoloco” burst onto the pro MMA circuit in 2016 and quickly racked up four victories by year’s end. In his most recent appearance, the 19 year-old took home the Aftershock title with a five-round unanimous decision against Kairin Moses in September.
His opponent for the headlineer, MMA 24/7 head coach Ryan Robertson recently bounced back in impressive fashion, stopping Alby Figueira with brutal elbows in the first round at Urban Fight Night 8 (fight video).
The co-main event will see local favourite Alex Gorgees from the ATT gym welcome Perth based Kiwi Stevie Kopeke in a lightweight battle.
Also slated for the pro portion of the card, Joel Kendrick (ATT/Team Buster) takes on Danny Hopper (XXX Fight Academy), Philip Kim (Team Perosh) faces Andrew Yousef (PMA) and Mark Familari (MMA 24/7) meets Tahiwi Sellar-McGee (ATT).
The Western Sydney based promotion has once again put together a massive amateur undercard with up and coming local talent from around the country slated to compete.
