Following their debut offering in August, new Melbourne based promotion Minotaur returns this Friday night at the Reggio Calabria Club in Parkville, Melbourne for show number two.

Minotaur 2 “Rampage” will be headlined by lightweight fight between Melbourne based Brazilian Rodolfo Marques and New Zealand’s Matiu Thoms. The event will be streamed live at Go Fight Live.

Marques makes his second promotional appearance after featuring in the co-main event of Minotaur 1 where he defeated tough Kiwi fighter Scott MacGregor. Most recently, however, “The Nightmare” suffered his first defeat since mid 2014, going down to Californian veteran Alvin Cacdac at Hex FS 4. Marques’s opponent, Thoms fights out of Strikeforce Canterbury in Christchurch and recently submitted Nick Lesquillier at NZFC 1.

In the co-main event, following his submission win over Kahn Sandy at Hex FS 4 last month, Renegade MMA’s Callan Potter returns to action and squares off with Hobart’s Steve Maxwell in a welterweight contest.

Among other matchups scheduled for Friday night, Mildura MMA featherweight Jesse Medina meets the previously mentioned Scott MacGregor from Timaru Freestyle Martial Arts in NZ. Medina, a BJJ brown belt, has crafted an impressive 5-0 record in 2015, taking out Garret Gross, Ryan Gray, Myles Simpson, Christian Burghartswieser and Regan Neoh, finishing all five by submission. The 24 year-old will face a tough test in MacGregor who recently went the distance with headliner Rodolfo Marques.
