River Daz is the latest Aussie to show his wares on ONE Championship’s weekly series at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Filipino Flash” will take on Romanian veteran Silviu Vitez at ONE Friday Fights 23 in a 140lb catchweight Muay Thai contest at ONE Friday Fights 23 on June 30.
The unbeaten Daz’s professional Muay Thai and kickboxing record stands at 32-0-1, including at 4-0 run with European promotion Glory Kickboxing.
The 30-year-old Hammer’s Gym representative has recently headed to Thailand to train at the famous Fairtex gym, and now gets his chance to impress with the Asian martial arts giant.
In Vitez, however, Daz is faced with an experienced fighter that will be hungry to kick off a run of his own.
“Hitman” has fought twice under the ONE banner in his 45-9-3 career. The 29-year-old came up short in both of those appearances, albeit against stellar opposition such as Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
Fighters on ONE’s Friday Fights series compete for a six-figure contract with the promotion. Contracts are awarded at the discretion of the ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Most recently, athletes such as Nico Carrillo, Thongpoon PK Saenchai and Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom and Australia’s Celest Hansen have made their way onto the ONE roster via the Lumpinee pathway.
