Sydney based fighter Richie ‘Vas’ Vaculik will reportedly face American based youngster Ray Borg in front of his home-crowd at UFC Fight Night 55 on November 8.
News of the match-up was revealed via The Daily Telegraph.
Both fighters are 1-1 in their UFC careers, with Vaculik coming off a tough decision win over Roldan Sancha’an back at the UFC Fight Night event held in New Zealand in June. Prior to that, the big wave surfer lost to Justin Scoggins back in December. Thirty one year-old Vaculik brings a 10-2 career record into the fight.
Twenty one year-old Ray “The TazMexican Devil” Borg started training at a young age and only made his professional debut back in 2012. He quickly built up an impressive record to get his UFC call up. In his UFC debut, he nearly edged out a decision win over highly regarded Dustin Ortiz. He bounced back with a first-round submission over Shane Howell in June to take his record to 7-1.
Also announced for the card is a bantamweight fight between Chinese fighter Jumabieke Tuerxun (14-2) and Patrick Williams (7-4). Both are coming off losses in the UFC so will be eager to get one on the board.
The event will take place at the Allphones Arena in Sydney and will be headlined by a middleweight clash between contenders Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold.
