Former The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs U.K contestant, ‘Bra Boys’ member and big waver surfer Richie Vaculik will get his opportunity to officially fight in the UFC as the Sydney based fighter drops to flyweight to take on undefeated Justin Scoggins.
The pair will meet on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 33 scheduled to take place on December 7 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Queensland, Australia.
Both fighters will be making their promotional debut, however Vaculik was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: TUF Smashes season where the bantamweight fighter competed in the lightweight division but ultimately was defeated in both his fights inside the house. In the quarter final stage he defeated against eventual winner Norman Parke before getting a second chance in the semi final where he was submitted by Colin Fletcher. Vaculik next took a Combat8 fight where he edged a close split points decision over American Charlie Alaniz under modified rules.
His opponent, 21 year-old Scoggins brings an undefeated 7-0 record to the fight and was rumoured to be making his UFC debut as a late replacement back in August on UFC Fight Night 27. He was scheduled to face Dustin Ortiz before the fight was scrapped by the UFC. Scoggins comes from an amateur kickboxing background and has recently started training at the American Top Team.
