Eternal MMA went down on Saturday night at the Coolangatta Hotel on Queensland’s Gold Coast where in the main event, Reece McLaren submitted Shantaram Maharaj to take home the Eternal MMA bantamweight title.

McLaren came into the bout after an impressive first-round TKO over Kian Pham back in February, and was able to back it up against Maharaj. The Kachi MMA fight secured the second-round rear-naked choke submission to get the tap at 4:01. McLaren is next scheduled to take on Adrian Rodriguez at XFC 21.

After losing in the main event of Fightworld Cup in early April, TCMMA fighter Johnny Mendez Walker rebounded with a first-round submission over his opponent Brett Jacobsen. The tap came via a rear-naked choke, only 3:32 into the bout.

Fight of the night honours went to the battle between Shannon McClellan and Matthew George. Training out of the Five Rings Dojo, McClellan would eventually secure the third round TKO to get the win.

Late replacement Rick Alchin submitted David Butt with a first-round arm-triangle submission.
