Australia will have two representatives on the bill, as ONE Championship makes its historic US debut on May 6.
Flyweight MMA contender Reece McLaren and Strawweight Muay Thai star Diandra Martin have been added to ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III, which takes place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
#4 ranked McLaren has a huge rematch on his hands, and could potentially find himself in the main event.
“Lightning” will take on #2 ranked Kairat Akhmetov, to whom he dropped a unanimous decision against back in 2019.
But in an added twist, both men will be on standby in case one of the main event fighters drops out.
The main event is set to be the highly-anticipated trilogy match between ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and former divisional king Adriano Moraes.
The pair are 1-1 in their series so far, with both fights ending by flying knee knockouts.
McLaren is riding a wave of momentum after winning his last two fights. The Queenslander took out Chinese contender Xie Wei by first round submission in June, before stopping Brazil’s Windson Ramos after two rounds in October.
Martin is the most recent addition to the card, as the Canberra-based Muay Thai standout faces American superstar Jackie Buntan.
Buntan is only one fight removed from her ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title shot in April. The Janet Todd protege outpointed UK star Amber Kitchen at ONE Fight Night 5 in December.
A win for Martin could well land her a title shot of her own, against former opponent and current champion Smilla Sundell.
Martin was last seen in August, when she also outpointed Kitchen. Her maiden ONE win followed her debut loss to teenage phenom Sundell, a third round TKO.
