Singapore based promotion, Rebel Fighting Championships have announced a featherweight tournament for their second numbered event, with the tournament set to feature two Australian based fighters in undefeated Michael Tobin (pictured) and Pat Promrangka.

News of the event was first revealed on MMASucka.com, with the event set to take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore on August 1.

The first-round of match-ups are set to take place on August 1, with the semi-final and final bouts to take place on one night later in the year. The winner will be crowned the promotions champion.

Named to compete in tournament are Miguel Torres, Will Chope, Yojiro Uchimura, Reydon Romero, Michael Tobin, Pat Promrangka, Mauricio Dos Jr, with a eighth and final competitor expected to be released shortly.

For both Australian based Michael Tobin and Pat Promrangka, it will be their first international MMA experience.

Now training at PUMMA on the Gold Coast, Tobin last fought back in February where he scored his seventh career submission by defeating Luke Hume in the first-round.

Training out of the Riot Vale Tudo gym in Queensland, Promrangka will go into the tournament having not fought since June 2013 where he lost to Regan Neoh. Prior to that, Promrangka scored an impressed first-round KO over TUF Smashes contestant Grant Blackler.

With the likes of former WEC Bantamweight title holder Miguel Torres and recently released UFC fighter Will Chope in the tournament, both Tobin and Promrangka will have their hands full if they are to win it.

MMASucka.com also revealed that the brackets for the tournament will be selected randomly at an official media launch on May 8.

It was also recently announced that Australian Top Team fighter Suman Mokhtarian had signed to fight on the promotion again.

    • Pat Promrangka (5-4)
