Coming up against a former 2011 Shooto Rookie Tournament champion, Australian Damien Brown held his own early in his bout against Kasuya Yusuke but ultimately was submitted with an armbar late in the fight to lose the lightweight clash at Legend Fighting Championships 11.

The event was held at the Chin Woo Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday night.

Via a reports in the play-by-play from MMA In Asia, Brown pleased the crowd with some nice slams as Kasuya looked to get the fight to the ground. Late in the third round, Brown got side-control after a failed judo but Kasuya got the reversal and avoided the triangle submission attempt from Damien Brown. From there he was able to transition firstly to side-control and then mount before securing the tap with only 13-seconds left in the fight.

With the win, Kasuya takes his record to 8-1 with his lone loss coming to Rob Hill, a fighter that Damien Brown defeated back in February.

It was also a very unsuccessful night for the New Zealand fighters on the card who went 0-5 on the card, most notable Luke Jumeau who lost in his Legend FC Welterweight Title fight against Jingliang Li. Fellow Kiwis, Sam Brown, Gareth Ealey, Ev Ting and Kai Kara-France all lost via decision earler in the night.

In the main event, highly rated Jadamba Narantungalag lost his Legend Fighting Championships to Koji Ando following an ankle injury suffered early in the third round. By all reports, the fight was even going into the third round so look-out possibly for a rematch of this fight.
