The debut offering from new Victorian based promotion, Minotaur, goes down this Friday night at the Reggio Calabra Club in Parkville, Victoria.
Minotaur 1 ‘Unleashed’ will be headlined by a five round bantamweight clash between local favorite Richie Ivory and Townsville’s Aden Hawke. In the co-main event, Melbourne based Brazilian featherweight, Rodolfo Marques returns to action opposite New Zealand’s Scott MacGregor.
A live stream of the event will be available on the night at the FNA Live Fights page for US$14.99.
Originally from Arklow, Ireland, Richie Ivory now bases himself in Melbourne where he trains under Ben Hall at Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. The 28 year-old’s been fighting on the local Australian MMA scene since early last year, and will be looking to rebound on Friday night after losing to XFC champion Jacob Mahony in November.
Ivory’s opponent for the headliner, Aden Hawke, 28, is currently enjoying a four-fight win streak with all four of those victories coming by submission. Hawke’s sole career loss came in his debut fight back in 2012, that was against Adrian Rodriguez. In his most recent outing, the Courage Training Centre product submitted Tim Zosh at Roshambo 3.
Nova Uniao fighter Rodolfo Marques returns to action following his quick fire submission of Shantaram Maharaj at Hex Fight Series 3 last month. Marques, 31, will now look to continue his winning ways when he comes up against Timaru Freestyle Martial Arts trained Kiwi Scott MacGregor in the co-headliner.
Also on the card, undefeated Phuket Top Team based Englishman Fred Harrington (6-0) meets Tasmanian Steve Maxwell in a welterweight clash. Meanwhile, the lone heavyweight bout of the night will see Ben Sosoli take on Simon Scott.
