    Eternal MMA 7 Fight Card: Undefeated Michael Tobin faces Johnny Mendez Walker

    Former Judoka Michael Tobin will look to keep his unblemished MMA record going this Saturday night when he faces Johnny Mendez Walker at Eternal MMA 7.

    Tobin will be looking to defend his Eternal featherweight title for the second time at the event scheduled to take place at Coolangatta Hotel in Queensland.

    Training out of the PUMMA gym on the Gold Coast, Michael “The Great White” Tobin (8-0) has not fought since a February submission win over Luke Hume. The win was Tobin’s seventh submission in eight fights. The youngster was set to compete in the first round of the Rebel Fighting Championships featherweight tournament in Singapore in August, however fellow Australian fighter Pat Promrangka forfeited from the bout on the day of the weigh-in. 

    Johnny Mendez Walker (5-2), earned his shot at Tobin back in July when he took the fight against Josh Karst on a few days notice and impressively got the submission win inside the first two-minutes. Training out of the Tweed college of Marital Arts, Walker brings a 3-0 record inside the Eternal promotion, having previously defeated both Jamie Naera and Brett Jacobsen.

    In the co-headline bout, David Butt (5-6) will battle against Jason Preece (5-8-3dr) for the promotions vacant lightweight title. Preece scored one of the biggest wins of his career at Eternal MMA 6, when stopped Brett Jacobsen with punches in the first round. Formerly from Tasmania and now training out of the Riot Vale Tudo team in Queensland, David Butt is coming off a first round stoppage over Eddie Trewin last month.

    Rounding off the professional A-Class bouts on the card is a featherweight fight between youngster Garrett Gross and Brett Jacobsen.

    Introduced at their last event, the Eternal Grapplers cup continues with accomplished local grapplers Paul Stolyar and Chris Helback meeting in a no-gi submission only grappling match-up. Eternal MMA will be looking to expand the Eternal Grapplers cup in future events to feature more of the Australia’s best grapplers.
