A flyweight bout between Shannon “The Turkish Delight” Ross and Paul Loga will headline Eternal 42 this weekend as the two clash for the promotion’s vacant title.
The event takes place at Southport Sharks AFL Club on Queensland’s Gold Coast on Saturday night and will stream live right here at FNA (via FITE TV).
Locally trained fighter Shannon Ross has been on a tear recently and comes into the fight with just one loss in his last seven outings which came at the hands of Ashkan Mokhtarian back in 2016. Since then he has racked up wins against Luke Morris, English fighter Steve Nightingale and most recently against TUF contestant Charlie Alaniz. The PUMMA trained athlete is a former Nitro flyweight title holder and will look to add another regional belt to his list of accomplishments.
Standing in his way though will be Brisbane’s Paul Loga who comes into the contest with three wins in a row against Grego Penaloza, Matt Seden and most recently against Danial Williams. Training out of Sassom MMA, Loga brings a 5-3 pro record.
In a battle of two featherweight contenders, Diego Pereira meets Aaron Blackie. Both bring a 5-2 pro record with Pereira coming into the fight with the better form, notably defeating Sam Hibberd in his last outing by split points decision. Hibberd edged a split decision against Blackie though Blackie, a former Judoka, has gone on to win two of his last three bouts.
Also on the card, Phuket Top Team trained Englishman Ben Royle (3-0) will look to remain undefeated when he fights Team Perosh’s Nurbolat Kuandyk (4-1) while former TUF Smashes contestant Mike Wilkinson squares off against David Martinez who replaced his team-mate Ben Wall after Wall was forced off due to an injury.
