North Queensland city, Mackay hosts the Carnage In The Cage event this Saturday with welterweight Ian Bone from the Body Torque gym headlining the event against Corporate Box fighter Brad Traynor. The fight will be contested under under full Muaythai rules however the fighters will wear MMA gloves and it will be contested inside the cage.

The rest of the fights, will be fought under Mixed Martial Arts rules with a trio of them being contested under ‘A-Class’ rules which includes elbows on the ground. Gokhan Turkyilmaz has been travelling and fighting around the world in recent months, and returns back to Australia and is set to face up-and-coming fighter, Taela Kelly from Bowen, Queensland. Kelly is taking a big step up in competition facing Turkyilmaz and no doubt will be eager to get a win and make his mark in front of friends and family.

After losing to Brentin Mumford at the last Fightworld Cup event early in August, Shane Gregory instantly went on the hunt for another fight before The Ultimate Fighter trials scheduled for next week. Answering the call is Airlie Beach trained fighter Anton Zafir. Both fighters will be looking at making a statement before they attend the trials next week.

In the only other ‘A-Class’ fight, Brothers MMA fighter Liam Harley will go up in weight to face Aden Hawke from the Body Torque gym. Harley was scheduled to fight for the Fightworld Cup flyweight title in early August but an accident in the sauna forced him out of the fight. Hawke looked impressive at Roshambo earlier this year where he submitted his opponent only 19-seconds into the fight.

The event will be held at the Mackay Turf Club in Ooralee with first fight set to start at 6pm.
