It’s been 14-months since 38-year-old Gennadiy Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) last competed and he is set to squeeze in a fight this calendar year, when he defends his IBF middleweight title, as well as the IBO version of the title, against Polish boxer Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KOs) on Friday, Dec. 18 (Saturday Australian time) at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The middleweight contest will be streamed exclusively on DAZN.
The new streaming service has this month been rolled out in Australia and will feature a host of boxing’s biggest matchups
Heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua competed on the streaming service last week, Canelo Alvarez is scheduled on Sunday, with Ryan Garcia scheduled on DAZN in the early days of 2021.
The bout will take place out of Florida with the fight card scheduled to kick off at 9am AEDT. The main event between GGG and Szeremeta is estimated to start around 11am AEDT
