Brace launch their pro-am series ‘Ascend’ this Saturday night at the North Sydney Leagues Club in Cammeray, NSW. The event will be headlined by a 2014 bantamweight championship tournament bout between Townsville’s Edwin Arana (pictured) and Sydney’s Mark Baskin.
Edwin Arana, who holds wins over Kian Pham, Jacob Mahony and Luke Hume among others, last fought in the promotion at Brace 23 where he defeated Zach Hook on points. Stepping into the Brace cage for the 9th time on Saturday night, the former featherweight champion will be looking to get back in the winners circle following a loss to Chris Morris earlier in the year at Unarmed Combat Unleashed 2.
Mark Baskin, of the VT-1 academy, is currently 2-0 professionally with both his wins coming under the Brace banner. Most recently, the 27 year-old unanimously outpointed Giancarlo Embradora in a back and forth battle at Brace 21. He made his debut at Brace 19 against fellow Sydney fighter Adam Corbett, who he put away with punches in the second round.
