Whitsunday MMA product Anton Zafir scored his third consecutive win when stopped previously undefeated Tristan Murphy in the main event of Airlie Fight Night 2.
The event which took place in a ring occurred at the Whitsunday Policy Citizens Youth Club on Queensland’s Airlie Beach.
Zafir was able to pull out the stoppage in the early stages of the second-round to take his record to 5-1. His lone loss came earlier this year when he was stopped in the fourth round by Alex Volkanovski. Since then tough, the full-time school teacher has managed to defeat Rod Staader and Shane Gregory before last nights win. Murphy had an unblemished record coming into the fight, but now drops to 3-1.
Also on the card which featured a combination of Mixed Martial Arts bouts and amateur boxing bouts, Leki Tuitupou scored a third round TKO win over George Wilson while Sebastian Leggett won a unanimous decision against Remi Vigor. Both were contested under MMA rules.
