World champion Greco-Roman wrestler Amir Aliakbari has had his anticipated MMA debut put on hold due to delays experienced in obtaining a visa to enter the country.
Formerly from Iran and now training out of AKA Thailand, Aliakbari was scheduled to make his debut on Australian Fighting Championships (AFC) 13 later this month against Benjamin Sosoli however sources within the promotion confirmed to Fight News Australia that delays in obtaining a visa have forced the bout to be cancelled.
AFC are hoping to get Aliakbari to make his debut at their September event later in the year.
