Two of Australia’s most entertaining lightweights will finally meet as Queensland based promotion Adrenalin-Unleashed has confirmed that Adrian Pang will return to face Jai Bradney. The event is scheduled to take place at the Eatons Hill Hotel & Function Centre just north of Brisbane on June 29.

The fight will have a lot on the line for both fighters as Pang (pictured left) returns to compete for the first time in over 18-months, while Bradney has lost his last two fights and will be eagerly wanting to get a win back on the board.

The promoters of the event told Fight News Australia, “We are very excited to to host Adrian Pang’s come back fight in a brilliant Queensland location at the Eatons Hill Hotel. Whilst considering a match up the name on many people’s tongues was the long awaited meeting with Jai “The Toothfairy” Bradney.”

After being assaulted on a night out, Pang was forced out of the sport for a prolonged period of time due to injuries sustained in the assault  At the time he was preparing for a fight against Koji Ando who recently went on to capture the Legend Fighting Championships Lightweight belt – a title Pang once owned. Training out of Integrated MMA, Pang is one of the longest active fighters in Australian MMA having made his debut back in 2001.

Pang has notable victories over the likes of Taiyo Nakahara, Rob Hill, Nam Yui Chul and Muhsin Corbbrey. He last competed back in October 2011 where he lost a split-points decision to highly regarded Jadamba Narantungalag.

Jai Bradney MMABradney (pictured right) will be looking at bouncing back and proving himself again as a top-five lightweight in the country. He is coming off a knock-out loss against Wes Capper in a fight that was contested under the modified Combat8 Rules last weekend and prior to that, Bradney was out-wrestled against Ben Wall at Nitro 8 in March, losing via a unanimous decision.

The losses shouldn’t erase what Bradney has achieved though with notable victories over Ian Schaffa, Rob Hill, Nick Honstein and Greg Atzori in a career that has spanned just over 6 years where he has made himself as a real crowd favourite.

“With both fighters having some of MMA’s most exciting fighting styles this could well be the fight of the year”, the promotion added.

“The undercard is stacked with talent from experienced and up and coming talent in MMA and Muay Thai and includes an international flavour as well.”

When asked about the fight Bradney responded to Fight News Australia, “A fight against Adrian Pang is not a fight a man would take if he is trying to carry his record. It’s more a fight a guy would take if he was a real man, a real fighter looking for the toughest fighters he can meet in the middle of the cage and fight so hard that the fans’s do little wee wee’s in their panties.”

When asked about if he expects Pang to be back at full strength, Bradney responded “Honestly that is a pretty dumb question. Adrian Pang is a beast and any rust is deeply rubbed into the mates at the Integrated Training Centre. There will no help for me come June 29.”

Pang kept it simple when asked about the scheduled match-up. Pang commented, “I expect my fight with Bradney to be an old school dust up. We both love to fight and the fans and promoters are going to ge their monies worth with this one.”

The event will feature a mixture of Mixed Martial Arts and Muay-Thai bouts with further bouts expected to be announced shortly.
