It was a tough night at the office for Adnan Larry in his ONE Championship debut.
The Kiwi heavyweight was defeated by Maxwell Djantou Nana by TKO at ONE Friday Fights 52 on February 16, after his corner waved off the contest at the end of round two.
Larry came out like a house on fire at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, launching straight into a series of leg kicks in classic Absolute MMA style.
A dramatic hip toss by Djantou Nana turned the tide and set the scene for a competitive round of action, as both men exchanged shots.
Larry appeared to tire in the second round, and Djantou Nana capitalised.
The hulking Cameroonian settled into a flow and peppered Larry with shots. The round ended with Djantou Nana unloading punches and elbows on a prone Larry in the corner.
Larry was saved by the bell, but he was unable to answer the bell for the final round and the contest was waved off.
Djantou Nana improved to 5-1 with the victory. The 33-year-old former combat sambo champion has now won five on the bounce, all by TKO.
Larry falls to 2-2 in his professional career and saw a two-fight win streak come to an end.
The Absolute MMA product took to his Instagram post-fight to reassure his fans that all is ok.
“Sorry guys. Bad day at the office,” he wrote.
“Thanks for all the support. No injuries. Back to the drawing board.”
