New Zealand fighter Kieran Joblin secured his fifth straight victory on Saturday night, defeating MMA veteran Jai Bradney via submission to defend his Carnage In The Cage (CITC) title.

The lightweight bout headlined CITC 6 which took place at the Mackay Entertainment Centre in North Queensland.

Making his third appearance in the promotion, Canterbury based Joblin chose to take the fight to the ground early and caught Bradney in an armbar to force the tap, 3:27 into the bout. Joblin adds Bradney to the impressive list of victories he has secured in recent times which includes Ben Wall and Oriol Gaset in his previous two appearances. Bradney drops his record to 16-12-1, 1NC in what was also his 30th career bout while Joblin moves to 16-6.

In the co-main event, Gold Coast based Anthony Johns came home strong to edge a decision against former UFC fighter Chris Indich. Johns survived some dangerous positions on the ground and worked his way back into the fight by out-working his opponent to secure the unanimous decision. The Heartbreak Conditioning fighter moves to 4-0 as a professional, while it’s a disappointing return for Indich who returned to action for the first time since being released by the UFC. His last bout was TKO loss to Vik Grujic back in June 2014.

Also on the card, Daniel Hill showed a strong top game to win a unanimous decision over Kimo Smith, while Kairin Moses overcame some heavy leg kicks to drop and finish his opponent Aden Hawke.
