Undefeated Victorian fighter Jordan “Showtime” Lucas has been forced out of his One Championship debut scheduled for later this week due to a cut. Replacing him to take on Filipino local Mark Striegl will be Eternal and XFC bantamweight champion Reece McLaren.

The event takes place this Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines and will be headlined by Brandon “The Truth” Vera taking on Chi Lewis Parry for the inaugural One Championship heavyweight title.

Formerly out of Kachi MMA in Toowoomba, and now training out of the PUMMA gym on the Gold Coast, McLaren brings a 7-3 professional MMA record with his last loss coming via split points decision against current UFC flyweight Ben Nguyen. McLaren has breezed past both of his opponents this year, submitting Jacob Mahony and Edwin Arana, both in the first round.

After suffering his first career loss back in 2013 while challenging for the One Championship featherweight title, Japanese born Mark Striegl made the drop down to the bantamweight division. Since then the 27 year-old has won back-to-back fights by submission, including a victory over New Zealand fighter Kaiwhare Kara-France.

Reece McLaren joins fellow Australian based fighter David Meak on the card, with the Chau Kaizen trained fighter opening up the card against debutant Christian Lee.
