Martin Nguyen will challenge long-time reigning One bantamweight title holder Bibiano Fernandes in March as the Aussie looks to become an unprecedented three-division champion in the promotion.

After previously revealing last month that the fight was in the works, One Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the booking official this week via Facebook for March 24 in Bangkok, Thailand.

I am super excited to announce two huge world title fights for ONE Championship! Singapore’s Tiffany Teo (7-0) and China…

Nguyen shocked the world last month when the 28 year-old became the first two-division champion in the promotion with a highlight reel KO of Eduard Folayang (video), adding the lightweight strap to his featherweight title.

Fernandes, 37, claimed the bantamweight title way back in 2013 and has made an impressive six title defenses since, most recently submitting US based fighter Andrew Leone in the first round. Prior to the quick-fire victory, the Brazilian earned a split decision against Australia’s Reece McLaren.
