A win would have put Matthew Frincu on the doorstep of a UFC contract however it wouldn’t prove to be as the Arizona based Australian suffered a first-round KO against Curtis Millender earlier today.

The two headlined Legacy Fighting Alliance 24 which took place at the Comerica Theatre, Arizona and was broadcast live in North America on ASX TV.

Frincu wanted a stand-up war but was punished after momentarily dropping his guard with Millender landing a powerful front high-kick to get the immediate win. The win came only 38-seconds into the bout.

It’s a major setback for the 24-year-old Airzona Combat Sports representative who had previously gone 7-1 since making the move from Gold Coast, Australia. Frincu drops to 11-3.

Millender moves on with his fifth win on the trot taking his professional record to 13-3.

Also notably on the card, renowned women’s BJJ champion Mackenzie Dern made quick work of Mandy Polk, dropping her opponent with strikes before securing the rear-naked choke submission.
