Australian fighter Kyle Noke’s bad run of injuries has continued, with the Albuquerque, New Mexico based fighter confirming he has had to pull out of his upcoming fight against Yoshihiro Akiyama.
The two were set to clash on the September 20 card scheduled to be held at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan and headlined by Mark Hunt taking on Roy Nelson.
“Unfortunately I’ve had to withdraw from my fight with Akiyama in Japan due to a knee injury. Thank you everyone for your continued support,” Noke tweeted last week.
Noke has fought once since September 2012, with that being a unanimous loss to Patrick Cote in April as part of The Ultimate Fighter Nations finale event. Since joining the UFC back in 2010, Noke has compiled a 4-3 record in the promotion.
Taking Noke’s place on the card will be Amir Sadollah who is making a comeback of his own after dealing with a series of injuries. The 33 year-old “The Ultimate Fighter 7” last outing was a decision loss to Dan Hardy back in September 2012.
