Tyson Harrison has gone down by decision to Thai powerhouse Pongsiri PK Saenchai.

“John Wayne Noi” put on another spirited showing against the former two-time Lumpinee Stadium Champion in the ONE Friday Fights 18 headliner on May 26, but ultimately was unable to land the killer blow.

Harrison started the opening round as the aggressor but as the frame dragged on, Pongsiri found his range and began to back the 22-year-old up with his signature power shots.

The second was equally as violent, as the pair spent all three minutes exchanging in the pockets. It was the Thai that got the better of Harrison though, as his power shots landed repeatedly.

Harrison continued to pursue elbows in the third, but the guard of Pongsiri held firm and he was able to land shots of his own.

The Queenslander was brave until the end, continuing to wave his foe forward. Ultimately, it was Pongsiri that landed the cleaner strikes over the journey and the 32-year-old was deservingly awarded the unanimous decision victory.

It was another ‘fight of the year’ contender for Harrison, who is now 1-2 in his ONE tenure after three absolute wars.

Pongsiri, for his part, has now won two-straight and three of his last four outings as he searches for another shot at the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

The PK Saenchai representative unsuccessfully challenged then-champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee for the gold back in 2020.
