Australian kickboxing great and former professional boxer, Daniel ‘The Rock’ Dawson (53-13-0) will return to the ring on September 8th where he will make his ONE Super Series debut at ONE: Beyond The Horizon in Shanghai, China.

Opposite the Perth-based Dawson will be experienced Italian Mustapha Haida (38-7-3) who is also set to make his debut for ONE Super Series following successful stints with several top-flight promotions including Glory, Kunlun and Bellator Kickboxing. The bout will be fought under kickboxing rules at a catch-weight limit of 72.5kg.

One of the most accomplished fighters across all Australian combat sports, Dawson has fought some of the biggest names in both kickboxing and boxing including Sam Soliman, Andy Souwer, Mike Zambidis, ‘John’ Wayne Parr and Daniel Geale.

Dawson last competed in 2016 when he returned after an eight-year break from kickboxing to fight ‘John’ Wayne Parr in the third bout of a three-fight trilogy where Parr walked away with a unanimous points decision over five rounds under muay thai rules.

A ten-fight card featuring a mixture of muay thai, kickboxing and mma, ONE: Beyond The Horizon will be headlined by a ONE Women’s Strawweight World Championship contest between champion Xiong Jing Nan and Brazillian Samara Santos.
