A super heavyweight collision between combat sports all-rounders Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa and Gul “The Hebrew Hammer” Pohatu is set to headline Urban Fight Night’s fifth event on Saturday night.

Urban Fight Night 5 takes place at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool, Sydney and will be the first offering from the promotion to feature professional bouts after previously hosting full amateur cards in the region.

A regular on the early Gladiators Cage Fighting shows, Tai Tuivasa returns to mixed martial arts competition following recent boxing and kickboxing ventures, which saw the popular 22 year-old compete in “The Last Man Standing” and Global FC one-night tournaments. Originally from St Mary’s in Sydney, “Bam Bam” has recently spent time training at AKA Thailand along side UFC heavyweights Mark Hunt and Soa Palelei.

It’s safe to say the main event will be decided on the feet, where Tuivasa faces a tough test in veteran knockout artist Gul Pohatu, 38. The hard-hitting Melbourne based Kiwi has lost just once in his 11 MMA bouts, with that being against South Australian standout Kym Robinson three years ago, “The Hebrew Hammer’s” most recent appearance in the sport.

In the co-main event on Saturday night, Lithgow’s Paul Traish and local Sydney fighter Darwin Sagurit will meet in a pro-rules bout to be contested at featherweight. Traish will make his pro debut at the event after building an extensive amateur record. Traish’s opponent, Sagurit, who fights out of the Australian Top Team gym in Sydney’s West, will go into his seventh professional appearance riding a three-fight win streak. Recently, “Sugar” knocked out Ivo Dos Santos in impressive fashion back at AFC 13 in June.

The other pro bout slated for the night will see promising undefeated ATT product James Najim square off with Brisbane’s Craig Lankester at bantamweight.
