Danial Williams has landed the opportunity of a lifetime ahead of ONE Fight Night 8.

Rodtang has been forced to withdraw from his March 25 main event showdown with ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9, due to an undisclosed injury.

    Enter “Mini T”.

Williams has answered the call and will now face Superlek in the headliner at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with the Thai legend’s title belt on the line.

The Perth native was originally slated to take on Portuguese veteran Rui Botelho on the card in a Muay Thai fight at his native strawweight.

Now Williams – ranked #5 at strawweight in both MMA and Muay Thai – will step up a weight class in search of his first ONE World Title.

Short-notice blockbuster opportunities are nothing new for “Mini T”. The 29-year-old also stepped in, somewhat ironically, to face Rodtang in his ONE debut back in 2021.

While he came up short that night, he did win the fans’ hearts with a spirited display against the Thai megastar.

Since then, Williams has competed under MMA rules, going 3-1 in 2022.

Superlek captured the vacant flyweight kickboxing crown with a decision win over gritty Spaniard Daniel Puertas at ONE Fight Night 6 in January.

“The Kicking Machine” was a former four-time Muay Thai World Champion prior to signing with ONE back in 2019, and holds a 132-29-4 record. His ONE record stands at 8-1.

Now, the 27-year-old will have to get past Williams to revive the highly-anticipated showdown with Rodtang.

Williams’ original opponent Botelho will now face Russian striker Aslanbek Zirkreev at ONE Fight Night 8.
