“Ruthless” Rob Lisita will make his return to Asia this December to face two-time Shooto lightweight champion, Takeshi Inoue, on the debut offering from newly-formed Singapore based promotion, Rebel Fighting Championship.

The featherweight matchup, which will take place on December 21 at a yet to be announced venue, is not officially announced at this stage, but was confirmed on Lisita’s Facebook page today, and is the first to be revealed for the event.

Now based in Phuket and fighting out of the Phuket Top Team gym, Lisita is no stranger to fighting in Asia having made two appearances, both in 2012, for Hong Kong based promotion Legend Fighting Championship.

Lisita is currently enjoying an undefeated 2013 with wins in MMA over Jacob Pettett and most recently over highly touted Brazilian veteran Rodolfo Marques, who he put away with punches at Australian Fighting Championship 6 late last month. The 30 year-old Aussie also defeated Hugh Cameron in an entertaining standup war on the hybrid fighting promotion, Combat 8, back in April.

Ten year veteran of the sport, Takeshi Inoue, or as he is widely known as, “Lion Takeshi”, is a former Shooto champion and holds an impressive 21-7 professional record. The 33 year-old, who took out the MMAFighting.com 2006 featherweight fighter of the year award, will be looking to halt a two-fight skid when the two meet, and rekindle the form which led him to career wins over UFC veterans Cole Miller and Caol Uno.
