The Professional Fighters League Regular Season gets underway this Thursday with the lightweights and light-heavyweights in action from ESports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Local anticipation is high for the event with Rob Wilkinson set to make his promotional debut where he will battle other fighters to be crowned the world champion with the winner in each division walking away with a US$1 million purse.

League points are scored not only for wins, but also for the method of victory and round of victory, so getting a finish is important to earn enough points to qualify for the play-offs.

Wilkinson has lost twice in his career, both times in the UFC with the first one coming on short notice to Siyar Bahadurzada and the second one to the current UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya who was making his debut in the UFC. A tough ask for any fighter but Wilkinson was discouraged and has bounced back on the local scene where he has taken out Dylan Andrews before moving to light-heavyweight to defeat Daniel Almeida in his last MMA outing to take his record to 13-2.

His opponent, Bruce Souto earned his ticket to the regular season via the PFL Challenger Series, where he dispatched Travis Davis in the first round to take his record to 15-3.

The card will be headlined by former UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens who comes up against Clay Collard.
