As announced last week, Christchurch’s Brad Riddell has signed with the UFC.

The Kiwi is expected to make his debut at UFC 243 in Melbourne, but with less than a month until fight day, there has been no official announcement on who he will match up with.

    Enter Jamie Mullarkey.

The Central Coast MMA product took to social media this morning to call out Brad Riddell for the upcoming blockbuster event.

Mullarkey (12-2), is the defending Superfight MMA lightweight champion and number 1 ranked lightweight in Australia and New Zealand per the Tapology MMA rankings.

Mullarkey is riding a four-fight winning streak which includes a TKO victory over Abel Brites; the only person to defeat Brad Riddell in MMA. Out of Mullarkey’s twelve wins, only one has gone to the judges’ scorecards.

If the UFC is looking for another local to put on the Melbourne card to fight Riddell, Mullarkey arguably makes a lot of sense.

UFC 243 takes place at Marvel Arena in Melbourne on October 6.
