    In a highly anticipated Trans-Tasman battle, UFC middleweight champion Robert Whitaker and interim champion Israel Adesanya will clash in the main event of UFC 243 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 6. In the semi-main event, Adesanya’s team-mate, Dan Hooker will face-off against the entertaining Al Iaquinta.

    The promotion has released a schedule of events taking place during fight week which are as follows:

    THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3

    UFC 243: OPEN WORKOUTS (Free and open to the public)

    Main Square at Federation Square
    Corner of Swanston St. and Flinders St.
    Melbourne VIC 3000

    5:30pm – 7:00pm (AEST)

    Participants:

    • Jon Anik – UFC commentator
    • Robert Whittaker – UFC middleweight champion
    • Israel Adesanya – UFC interim middleweight champion
    • Al Iaquinta – No. 6 UFC lightweight
    • Dan Hooker – No. 15 UFC lightweight
    • Tai Tuivasa – No. 13 UFC heavyweight
    • Holly Holm – No. 3 UFC women’s bantamweight

    Details:

    • 5:30pm: Dan Hooker workout
    • 5:45pm: Israel Adesanya workout
    • 6:00pm: Tai Tuivasa workout
    • 6:15pm: Holly Holm workout
    • 6:30pm: Al Iaquinta workout
    • 6:45pm: Robert Whittaker workout

    SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5

    UFC 243: FAN EXPERIENCE (Free and open to the public)

    8:00am – 2:00pm (AEST)

    9:00am – 11:00am (AEST)

    Details:

    • 9:00am – Doors open to the public
    • 10:00am – UFC 243 weigh-ins
    • 10:30am – Guest athlete Q&A with Alex Volkanovski & Paula Costa

    *While the weigh-in event is open to the public, you will need to obtain tickets via Ticketmaster, free of charge. Tickets are general admission with no allocated seating.

    SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6

    UFC 243: WHITTAKER VS. ADESANYA

    Docklands VIC 3008

    8:30am – 4:00pm (AEDT)

    Details:

    • 8:30am: Doors open to the public
    • 9:30am: Fight Pass Prelims
    • 1:00pm: UFC 243 live on Pay-Per-View
    • 4:00pm: UFC 243 concludes

    Special reminder that Daylight Saving will begin in Melbourne at 2am on Sunday, 6 October 2019 where clocks will go forward one hour.
