Danial Williams fought valiantly once again, but the power of Lito Adiwang was telling at ONE Fight Night 19: Haggerty vs. Lobo.

The strawweight MMA pair locked horns at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on February 17 with a mission to re-enter the reckoning for a berth in the stacked division’s top five.

It was a torrid time for “Mini T” in the early going, as a thunderous Adiwang right hand sent him crashing to the canvas just over a minute into the fight.

Adiwang pushed hard for the finish after Williams clambered back to his feet, but the Perth native hung tough.

“Thunder Kid” then took Williams to the mat but was unable to mount much offence, as his opponent fought back to his feet in the dying seconds.

Williams enjoyed his brightest moments in round two, landing kicks to the body and legs as Adiwang tried to line him up from distance.

Adiwang hit a takedown early in the final round, forcing Williams to spend most of the round trying to regain his feet.

He was successful in doing just that with just under a minute left, and he landed a knee that appeared to wobble Adiwang in the final 10 seconds of the contest.

In the end, it was Adiwang that did the most damage. The Filipino was duly rewarded with a unanimous decision victory, extending his win streak to three.

Williams, for his part, has now lost four straight across two different sports.

A pair of kickboxing world title losses to elite strikers Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Di Bella are now sandwiched between a pair of MMA losses.

In the ONE Fight Night 19 main event, Two-sport ONE bantamweight world champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty recovered from a first-round knockdown of his own to score a dramatic second round knockout of heated rival Felipe Lobo.
