Australian Muay Thai standout Celest Hansen is back on track after a hard-fought victory at ONE Friday Fights 69.

“The Best” outstruck Masami over three rounds in their atomweight Muay Thai contest on July 5. The wild slugfest took place at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

There was no feeling out process after the opening bell sounded, with Masami coming out with a relentless volley of punches.

The experienced Hansen was able to stay out of trouble for the most part, and the 30-year-old dominated her Japanese opponent in the clinch. Her signature left uppercut appeared to wobble Masami in the dying seconds of an action-packed opening round.

Masami continued to plough forward in the second frame, but Hansen continued to defend diligently as her opponent’s strikes largely caught arms.

The Aussie landed a hard elbow midway through the round that appeared to halt Masami’s attack. She then took over from there, landing hard shots and following up with kicks.

Masami returned to swinging wild in the final round, but it was Hansen who controlled the action and fed her foe a steady diet of clean counter punches.

The relief washed over Hansen after she was deservingly awarded the unanimous decision victory, snapping the Fairtex Training Center representative’s three-fight losing skid. Her ONE record now stands at 3-3, after she opened her tenure with the martial arts giant with two thrilling wins.
